Pyxl Hired by Knoxville Challenger to Handle Event Marketing
Knoxville, Tenn. - September 17, 2009 - Knoxville-based marketing services firm, Pyxl, announced today it has been selected by the Knoxville Challenger, presented by Pilot Oil Corporation, to handle all aspects of the marketing plan surrounding the USTA Pro Circuit event.
Pyxl has been hired to handle all strategy consulting, graphic design, web design and development, public relations and social media for the Knoxville Challenger. This dynamic program is designed to promote attendance at the event and has already helped the Sponsorship Committee to meet and exceed sponsorship goals. To date, $135,000 has been raised, which is $85,000 above the committee's original goal.

The team has helped us to greatly exceed our sponsorship goals, and I am confident that this year's Knoxville Challenger will be the best event yet," said Howard Z. Blum, Tournament Director.
The Knoxville Challenger is a 6-day tennis event to be held November 9-14, 2009 at the Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center at the University of Tennessee. This USTA Pro Circuit event was designed for rising stars and has a proven track record of drawing the new wave of top tennis athletes. Past participants include Andre Agassi, Leyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick.

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Helen Ross McNabb Center, which continues to provide quality and compassionate mental health care, addiction and recovery and social services to those in need within the Knoxville community. Additionally, the Challenger will honor the late Harry Stowers, whose life, work, commitment and passion for The Helen Ross McNabb Center were all of significant benefit to the entire community.
